sounds like a good candidate for cam swap.. go onto summit and do some digging...if ya keep the comp controled carb u'd have to get one compatiable for it

or ya could go for a nice carb and intake ...headers will nelp ..if im not mistaken intake is usually worth a good 10hp and header prolly another 10 add a cam into that and it'll start to add up

sounds like these guys got it covered. anything that will make that engine BREATH better!! headers, cam, intake, and carb is a good spot to start. it may be a little extreme, but a SMALL shot of nitrous on a stock motor is a great bang for your buck too.

nitrous definately not in the option zone lol i want to have the power all the time not just 1 time on the track and in my eyes that would kinda be cheating if i raced someone without nitrious also

if you run headers, you should look into getting a pair of high flow cat. converters for it... that should free up some hp.... carb, intake, headers, mabe a cam.... they are all great places to start.

even better, lol. i just put about the high flow cats. caus i dont know how jersy is about emissons. if you dont have to worry about them, i would look into diching the smog equipment, too. that crap just chokes HP right outta the engine.
