That intake, all cleaned and painted looks great!! I finally got to listen to the videos. Sounds good so far!!! And I love the look of that big monster sized intake!!!
Thanks Matt I appreciate it. Hopefully you will get to see the finished product this summer at the W Body meet. I told ya before Zach, I LOVE this kinda custom stuff!!! I love the fact it is different and there wasn't much to follow and making it work makes it feel that much better. I appreciate the kind words Jason. It is really starting to look like it belongs in there to me
I did get to drive it a bit today. First impressions are really good. It runs and drives smooth. The throttle is really snappy and responsive. I was limited to in town streets so I didn't go anymore than about half throttle....half throttle is enough to spin the tires going 25
So far I love it. I can't wait to really open it up. I have a feeling it is gonna be a monster. I got it all washed up. It was really dirty from all the work that has been done out in the garage. I ordered a Covercraft car cover after Christmas I will finally be able to put it on once it drys out from washing it.
However I did find a minor gas leak in one of my AN fittings going to my back fuel rail. I will have to pull the hose off and inspect the fitting and the hose and go from there. It is minor if that is the only trouble I run into I will be pretty happy.
I'll see what I can do with the air box... Gonna need some cutting done to fit the new size tubing in there it's almost an inch bigger than stock.
Oh yeah that's why I wanted to start as early as I did so I could iron out any issues out I may have. It has gone pretty smooth so far and the really hard work is done. I hate to cut on that box though haha. The angle of the filter is way different too.
Update: I have been messing with my rear fuel line. It seems to leak fuel and found out you can't use summit An fittings with Holley hose. So I ordered 3 fittings to experiment with from Earls. I think I found a location for my catch can and believe using my CAI box is a lost cause. My intake sits too high.
I also got it covered up. I bought a cover craft cover back in December and this is the first time it has been clean enough to actually put it on. Fits great so it was a good buy
