I have a 2000 monte ls 3400, and I'm looking for an intake(preferably k&n) but I cant find anyhting, I dont want to go with custom, does anyone know where to find one?

 

build your own is about all you can do... don't know of any GOOD cai's for the 3400. somebody else can post on how to build a fenderwell intake for you.

 

i'm still trying to figure out if we can make the k&n unit work, one of my friends, also a member on here has a 3.4l and we're taking a look and the only difference we can see is the maf sensor is in the middle of the intake tube on the 3.4 instead of @ the throttle body on the 3.8 so we're seing if it can be moved to the throttle body and then install the cai

 

Simple solution: I was looking for cold air for my 3.4L as well and couldn't find anything for a 3.4 Monte Carlo. I was about to settle on buying an SS cold air intake and modifying it when I changed tactics. I found a stainless steel cold air intake for a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero that uses the same 3.4L V-6 as the Monte Carlo and has virtually the same engine compartment layout. Picked it up for $35 and just slapped a 9" K&N filter on the end.

its funny, i had the same problem, but i went to the import lot of bucks auto, and i found this intake tube (stock) off of a volvo i believe, and it worked perfect torun my filter in the bumpercover, i'll post a pic tomorrow.

 

Hi. I'm looking for a cold air intake for our 2001 LS 3400. Many of the threads I've read have mentioned air boxes from K&N, WizAired (ZZPerformance), and Cold Air Induction as being installed on a 3400. But, I've talked to K&N and ZZPerformance. Neither have an intake box for the 2001 3400. I'm waiting for a response from CAI. Were products for the 2001 3400 discontinued? Or do people buy the kit for the 3800 and make it fit? I don't want to make a custom box if I don't have to.

 

this was back in 08 but that pic of the MCF police/ Monte chaser was awesome
