Wow. I would NEVER ever take my spare tire out of my car. You're asking for trouble.

sometimes people who upgrade their rims, can't use their spare donut anymore. and then the compartment isn't large enough for the new spare, so why even have the donut?

that's when you get AAA and call it a day.

Why wouldn't you be able to use your spare if you install new your wheels?? I guess if you're ridin' 22's! lol

Screw AAA. It's OnStar all the way!

exactly, if you are running marginally larger than the stock wheels, the donut will be far too small.

um... ebay?!
There is no true cold air intake for a 5th gen monte on ebay...period. HAI's- sure, not CAI/FWI's.

Where do you guys relocate the battery to? I've been planning on doing it, but don't know where it will go?
It will fit in place of the spare tire, if you want it totally hidden- another possibility is on the right rear side of the trunk. When I ran dual batteries for my sound system, my 2nd battery was mounted on the right side. You just have to make a way to secure it (either a top plate through the floor or a battery box screwed to the floor).

Why would you relocate the battery to the trunk on a FWD car? I'm curious.
If he wanted to make a FWI, he needs to run the air intake tube from the throttle body into the fenderwell. Go on google images, and find an underhood pic of a 5th gen monte. The battery and windshield washer tank bridge the gap between the strut tower and headlight brace- so you either need to turn the battery, or relocate it (or build your own CAI).

Wow. I would NEVER ever take my spare tire out of my car. You're asking for trouble.
I have 18"s and coilovers. Its not as simple as just slapping the spare on- I have to significantly raise the coilovers just to get the car off the ground. Not to mention, at the time I had my sub box mounted over my spare tire well (attached to my amp rack, etc)- so you'd be talking a couple hours of work just to be able to drive on a spare. Plus, I wanted to clean up the car for show use, and the spare tire is a good place for the big bulky battery to disappear.

My monte is not my daily driver like other people on here- I'm not going on 1k mile road trips, its all local in town stuff. If I ever had a flat, I'd call my wife, or a friend to swing by my house and drop off a spare rim / tire for me. I guess if I were really that worried about it, or planned on taking long road trips or using it for DD duty- I could always put on run-flats, but I really don't see it being that big of a deal.

Sorry, no picture of the trunk w/ the battery. Basically, I bought one of those battery hold down kits from the parts store, and mounted it right smack in the center.
