Tons and tons of threads on all sorts of intakes for your car.

#1 intake would be the Wizaired from ZZPerformance.com
#2 would be to make your own FWI

Open cones are never a good idea. K&N is a glorified open cone, I have one, I hate it. The heat shield does nothing.

I run the Wizaired CAI and as Chibi said the K&N's are pretty much useless as soon as you start generating some heat in your engine bay, that's all its sucking up, kinda takes the COLD out of CAI... Also the Wizaired is a great easy fit for our cars, and the performance gain is noticeable... Good luck and welcome... Keep us up-dated...

I'm not sure what you mean by making an FWI ? I have cold air intakes on my other vehicles, and they work great. I'm running AFE and AEM on those. I have no idea on how to make one myself, any suggestions on how to keep the hot air out? Any videos out there on how to do this?

Here is how my Wizaired CAI looks... It will suck up 99% cold outside air from both (behind the headlight & Fender well) locations... FWI, is a Fender Well Intake, lots of posts on here explaining the how-to... Hope this helps...
