Default Header question

I saw an 06 Monte (Dale Earnhardt edition) at the Nats with ceramic headers on it from the factory (I believe)

I am interested in dressing up the Deuce's engine with good quality ceramic headers (Inside and outside ceramic) can anyone suggest a brand that will fit an 06 Monte SS with out any modifications?

Thanks!

Thorley has been manufacturing high quality headers for decades. I'd have a look at what they have to offer.

Mike I had looked at them here:

Doug Thorley Headers

They offer only the "Shortie" version for the 06 Monte SS silver ceramic (I like)

Now, it comes with the Y pipe, will I need to change out the CAT??? Also is this a good price at $689?

thanks Mike

that is our only option unfortunately right now. rumor has it Calspeed has LS4 headers in the making but they probably wont be ceramic. I have been wanting a set of thorleys for awhile now but cant bring myself to spend the money on them.

you will have to have a shop weld the headers to the downpipe is my understanding. a little cutting will be required by the cat.

I really want the Thorleys with the ceramic silver.

In doing some searching, it seams installation is a tad more that I can handle in my garage. I talked to my Mechanic friend and he said to get them in right and welded for show quality I would need to go to a performance shop to get it done right. I am searching for such a shop in the Lansing area. I suspect installation will run $500 bucks

they look so much better than our stock exhaust manifolds

yes and sound much better. mechanics get 8hrs of labor for stock manifolds I asked the guys next door to my shop and that doesnt count if a bolt breaks off and all that. so I am not so sure about if the cost is worth the end result
