Default 2.25 inlet/outlet or 2.5 inlet/outlet?

Hey everyone, so I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on some new mufflers as my stock ones have begun to rust out. I'm getting the Spintech pro street 6000 series. I have listened to a ton of different mufflers for the 06' Monte Carlo SS and this one by far sounds the best I think. Anyway, I know the Monte Carlo has a offset inlet and a center outlet. But I want to be sure with dimensions. Will I need a 2.25 inch inlet/outlet or do I need a 2.5 inch inlet/outlet? I'm fairly certain the 06' is 2.5 inch back to the cat and then 2.25 inch the rest of the way. I just want to be sure before I go and spend the money. Also when I go to a shop to have them installed do I need to have the piping and everything or should they have all of that?

These are the mufflers I have installed on my 3.9, I'm guessing your 5.3 is the same size? See the specs for inlet/outlet dims......

ok, so it's 2.25 inlet and 2.5 outlet. At least for that muffler. I didn't even think about doing that. I'll have to look and see if the spintech comes in something like that.

why not have the y made to 2.5 while you are doing this and run 2.5 inlet and outlet? that way at least youll gain something from the swap besides sound.

I may do that as well. It just depends on how much everything will cost. I'm going to start calling around here in the next few days and start getting quotes. Surely something like that can't cost that much more can it?
