fwi. VS gutted airbox...

Default fwi. VS gutted airbox...

ok so i either wanna get an fwi or use pvc pipe as i wood use 4 the fwi and run that into the air box.. but idk which one will help it more performance wise.. and safer overall.. like water and stuff like that.. btw its a 04 ss/sc. all help wood be appreciated.. gonna do this tommorow so answer asap. thanks)

you dont wanna run it into the stock air box, you can get some flew pipe and run it into the fenderwell, or if you wanna go the cheap route you can gut the stock airbox and not get as much for results. if you just put a cone on the end and run it into the stock airbox it will be a WAI because it wont have anything sealing it from the warm engine.

the FWI has more possibilities for water getting to it but the risk is still very low, and you will most likely get more power, thought not very noticeable in all cases, with the FWI.

also, you will need a pcm try if you completely remove the stock box, one can be found here:

you can probably tape it down for a temporary solution for that, you will also need either an MAF simulator or a place to put the MAF where the air is coming in, if you remove the stock tubing.
