Default straight piped 00 mc ss n/a **video added**

so i got my mc from up north(mass) and i live in fla. the resonator and cat have rusted holes in them so im takin them off and puttin a straight pipe in place all the way out with no mufflers.

anyone else done this?
ill post a video of it after its done so you can hear it.
if i dont like it im just gonna stick a couple high flow mufflers on the ends so that i can still retain some of the loudness.

You will more than likely want to put a resonator and mufflers on that thing. It is going to be really loud, and the 3800 does not sound very good straight piped. It will be VERY raspy.

A resonator and mufflers will make it sound MUCH better.

Yea the 3100/3400/3500/3900 all sound pretty good...The 3800 tends to have much more of a raspy sound to it though.

Totally agree, its going to sound like absolute garbage- its been done before many times; and like anyone with a loud 3800 knows- it sounds nasty, raspy, and terrible. It'll be loud; but how loud do you really want a 16 second car?

I just bought some resonated tips for my 3400, so my buddy had to go out and buy some for his. Here's the thing though, he also has his piped as you do. He has the 3400 so I dont know if this would apply to what you're doing but, he put the resonated tips on his piped monte and I gotta tell you, it doesnt sound bad at all. It actually, to tell you the 100% truth, sounds good to me. It sounded just plain UGLY wiith it piped and when he put on the 2 1/4" resonated tips on the end of his pipes, It gave it a nice deep growl and almost eliminated the raspyness of it. Just giving a suggestion though, good luck with what you do.

The sound of the 3800 vs the 3400 is night and day though. Even straight piped 60*'s don't sound remotely as bad as a 3800 straight piped.

Okay yeah then, I didnt realize it was that big of a difference. But, do you think the resonated tips would take a little of the edge off of the rasp?

Well if you want, at least try the resonated tips on there before you go spending the money on mufflers?? IDK just a suggestion though.
