Default Fowmaster super 40's or 44's ????

Just bought a 2006 Monte Carlo SS and plan to take off the resonator and add some flowmaster mufflers.....what is the difference between the super 40's and 44's ? I've heard both types on video clips and both sound very similar.
Is either one better?

According to flowmaster.com the 44 is louder. Don't know much about 'em though.

if you're removing the resonator either will be pretty obnoxious. i have the super 40's w/ the resonator intact and am pleased with the sound. if you're going for the loudest "**** off your neighbors" exhaust then go with the 44's and remove the resonator.

Or, you could leave the res on, chop off both mufflers, replace w/ straight pipe, its pretty loud, but not terrible loud. It's what I did, I like the sound. It's not for everyone.

Via Flowmaster, Inc.

Super 44's: Flowmaster’s NEW Super 44™ muffler with its 4” x 9.75” x 13” all black finish case offers distinct advantages over our original 40 Series™ muffler. Using the technology seen in our larger Super 40™ mufflers, the Super 44™ delivers a rich deep tone, an improved flow path radius, optimum internal flow and sound control, all created with Flowmaster’s Delta Flow® technology. It is the most aggressive, deepest sounding, highest performing four inch case street muffler we’ve ever built!

Super 40's: The Super 40 is our latest development utilizing "Gen II Delta Flow" technology. This gets you the best of both worlds of Sound and Performance. The Super 40 has that "deep powerful" sound of the original 40 series but with all the benefits of performance and low interior resonance from the "Delta Flow technology."

If you want to save some cash, some one on here with a 5.3L LS4 SS is putting on mufflers from Summit. Supposedly they sound pretty good.

I'd leave the res on.

I herd takin off the res can burn off your valves. But theres really no reason to take it off. Take off the muffs and it's plenty loud. Trust me.
