I know that it won't apply to my Monte but I am still curious. What is a "PLOG"?

"Power Log"- it's a tubular front manifold with larger primaries and a larger collector than the stock manifold. It's designed for Series II and III 3800s.

Zipper, what system are you running.
The 5th gen Monte's are a pain to deal with the headers for sure. I have TOG's and my firewall had to be pounded, and the headers do still touch, but just barely. Here's a pic to kind of show where my headers touch:

Other then the headers, ZZP built me a custom d/p, and then I had a local shop fab up the rest of my exhaust.

What kind of hp or 1/4 mile goals to you have for your Monte? Also, what kind of a budget are you working with? Knowing that will help find the perfect setup for you.

I'm not looking to get too crazy on the build. I would like to run high 13's on motor. I currently have a Zex kit with an 85 shot on the car that will be staying so low 13's on spray would be nice. I know with a stock pulley and a L36 bottom end I should be about 20 hp up on a stock L67. If a plog and 3" DP will get me into the 13's then that seems like the way to go. I have been back and forth on a cam. The thing that sucks is how cheap the SD headers are for a complete system.

If you're only going for high 13's, then you can do that easily without headers. You may even want to skip the cam and just do rockers instead. That's a very easy goal to hit once you do the top swap. Just be ready to want to go even further The mod bug is a crazy thing.

Lol, I know that. I have since nixed the cam for now. Money and time constraints have limited it to just the swap for now then exhaust upgrades in the spring.
