I want to make my car louder. Has some sound now but I was brought up on Glasspacks. I dont really want those but I want to hear it even when it idles. It really isnt necessary to get a whole catback system is it? Cant I just get two mufflers installed? Would be much cheaper than the Magnaflow cat back system on ebay. What mufflers would you go with? Some type of Flowmaster? Probably do this in a month or two. Thanks MCF'ers...

 

i have been thinkin about what kind of exhaust i want to put on mine too....still dont know for sure..i think im gonna have a guy here in town piece a cat back together for me sometime

 

i have the 3.5 v6 and i went to a lous custom and got the resonator cut out and just replaced with a pipe then i had them Y that pipe so i could have 2 flowmaster delta flow 40's series mufflers. let me tell ya its RETARTED loud and VERY throaty. at Idle ive had numourous people ask me if i have the v8 in it. its loud at start up, loud at idle and best tone when your on it at about 3grand and you alow the car to just cruise at 2ish grand RPM. if your putting it in tthe v8 itll sound even more ballsier!

btw with the v6 im heard a few blocks away, and thers not ricer sound at all!

 

ive done the magnaflow and to me it was a huge waste of money. i ended up keeping the magnaflow resonator and the piping and ditched the mufflers and straight piped it. its loud on start up and at full throttle but at idle its not too loud. the magnaflow is not a very noticeable difference from stock. i personally dont like the way flowmasters sound on the ls4, and ive always thought that glasspacks sound like a cow mooing when cruising. if you do a search i have videos posted. slp has a catback that takes minor mods to use and is far cheaper. personally i would keep the factory resonator and take the factory mufflers off and have an exhaust shop do 2.5 from the y straight out.

I bought SLP Loud mouth mufflers on craigslist for $100 new , installed them at home I like the sound .I didn't do a catback .
