muffler choices
so in about two weeks im probably gonna be getting my exhaust redone. i plan on deleting my cat, and my resonator and just getting two mufflers and i was wondering if anyone had any good things to say about thrush turbo mufflers. since they are the cheapest mufflers at any of the exhaust shops around. second is flowmaster but they are $75 compared to the thrush mufflers price tag of 23 and some change. all comments welcome. and ppl gimme some ideas on how i should do my exhaust tips. i was kinda leanin to the aar cuda style. both sides at an angle right before the back tires. but idk how that would work with my car.

I have not used Magnaflow, Flow Master or Thrush mufflers (I've used stock and a shop that makes custom stainless ones). I know lots of people who have used Flow Masters happily (none of them are W-body owners).
Ask yourself this:
If known brands like FlowMaster and Magnaflow are selling for over a double the cost of Thusher, what's the difference?
Odds are quality. I'm taking a wild stab Thrusher mufflers are made of a lower grade of steel or are not designed to offer the performance and sound quality of a leading brand.
Also, you mentioned removing your CAT.... You may want to verify that is legal in your area (I know in my area, sometimes when you go for an emissions test they sweep a mirror under the car to verify you have a CAT). Plus, no CAT, you will throw a P0420 (I believe that's the code) because your rear O2 sensor will NOT be happy.

well i looked thrush up (after going through all the bird articles) and found that they have been around for a while. and i think that the reason they are so much cheaper is bc they were made to be the cheaper solution. (ppl correct me if im wrong lol) and i liv ein the grand ol' state of alabama. which means no emissions for meeeee. they only time you would get in trouble for removing your cat is if you drive around with an open downpipe/headers or a straight pipe. as long as you have some sort of muffler the police dont care. but anyways i was hopin someone would bring up the part about throwing a code without a cat, isnt the o2 sensor there to measure the fuel/oxygen content of your exhaust and keep it right? so if i delete the cat what would i have to do to fix this? gah if only i could get a 1500 dollar shopping spree with the borla catalog lol
yeah im running no mufflers atm, i had two pieces of pipe welded in with my tips and the shop i used charged me for stainless and over the course of a VERYYY snowy winter with my monte undriveable they rusted completely through, im thinking they used aluminized and just polished it. and i like how my car sounds with no mufflers but i think if i just run a straight pipe with no cat and no mufflers it will just sound obnoxious. lol
That would have been my first choice but cops are bad here in Lansing area... With no mufflers how does that affect the back pressure issue?? Still runs good?
