Default DMH Cutouts-HELP! 07 5.3 ls4

I am going to buy a pair of DMH Cutouts, but I am unsure where to put them. I want to eliminate the exhaust pipe over the tranny when I am at the track, so i really want to put the cutouts right after the header, but I do not think that there is enough space. Any ideas? pics would help! If you have pics of cutouts on a LS4 please let me know, I would like to see what you have done. I am trying to get a low 13 sec pass. any imput would be appreciated.

Why not put it right before the cat on the downpipe?
That way you're bypassing all of the most restrictive parts of your exhaust.

this is your optimal set up: http://www.hoganperformance.com/dp13s.htm and then in the bolt on with out the cat just weld in your cut out. and since we dont have a true dual exhaust you only need one cut out. the downpipe allows alot more flow than stock. and like you said there is no room to even go about doing the cut outs after headers. there is nothing to play around with up there. its unfortunate but hey with some simple mods you can haul some A$$.

I agree with the others- just put a single one at the bottom of the downpipe. Running two could theoretically be done, but it would be more money, and you're really not going to gain anything power wise- the crossover isn't really that big of a restriction.

Nice find.
Thing is though, if you wanted to run a cutout......couldn't you just unbolt that section that holds the cat when you get to the track?
Unless you have an electric cutout and you want to keep it quiet until you get up to the line.

that is exactly it. its just to easy to just weld the cut out in and be able to drive away easily. thats what should be coming to me after my spring break

I want to hear some sound clips of the cutout open on that V8 man.
These V6's sound like crap with open exhaust, but they sound like crap with pretty much any loud exhaust.

The V8's on the other hand almost always sound great.

thanks for all the help. I will try to post a video or pics when i get a chance. I think i am going to utilize the down pipe idea. I would just unbolt, but i want to have fun off the track as well (my car has remote start). oh the fun i will have!
