What purpose to the electric cutouts serve...

Cutouts are AWESOME. You can do them on any car.
The positive: the cutout allows exhaust to dump out, as opposed to travelling through the rest of the exhaust. This will allow you to run a (slightly) faster time at the track. And it's loud. VERY loud.
The negative: it's loud. And could fail. But that's with anything.

On the dyno we had a measured gained of 30 whp. with the exhaust cut out opened. Now given this is on a built motor, still it was cheap horse power.
Negatives: They are illegal in some states due to emission rules and you may not be able to pass emission tests if they see it installed, especially before the CAT converter. And you could be cited for noise violations by a police officer if he wants to be a D*@k...Your roll of the dice..........

Id say quit it. If you arent gonna go with a major build to get true benefits of cut outs, they why bother going through the trouble with emissions. At best, you should just go with a down pipe, high flow cat, res delete and some good mufflers

i got the magnaflow mufflers and getting ready to install the cai intake. i was hoping the mufflers and res. delete would bring a little more noise but im not quite satisfied. any suggestions? help me out here guys. you always come thru for me.
