Hi everyone i have a 2000 monte SS 3.8L my checj engine light is on and i went to advanced auto parts to get the codes read i just need help on undersanding what it means one code said that "SYSTEM TOO LEAN" which i guess has something to do with the intakes but im not sure so since that what i was tole i jsut dnt know what system to lean means

 

System too lean... Could be clogged injectors, afaulty fuel pressure regulator, plugged fuel air mixture.

 

"system to lean" just means your getting too much air and not enough fuel into engine. to fix this, refer to what hyperfox said.

a "rich" engine is just the opposite: too much fuel, not enough air.

 

any work performed on the vehicle just prior to the light coming on?

 

how do i check all of the aforementioned parts such as the fuel regulatory gauge etc...

 

Sounds like it's time for a can of Seafom fuel injector cleaner, then drive it like you stole it for that tank of gas.
