catalytic convertor questions. 2000 Monte ss 3800
I want to get a high flow cat but I can't find if they are bolt on or if any welding an cutting is needed to install the new one/ remove the old one.
Also is it a easy job or how much would I expect to pay a mechanic

If you get a downpipe with a catalytic converter already added to it, then it will be a bolt-in job.
If you just want a new cat, then a shop would cut out the old and put in the new which would require welding.
High-flow cats trip our PCM and set a check engine light.
