I realize this technically isn't a CAI just like the other one posted, but I've watched my IATs while driving in a bunch of different situations and as long as your not sitting in traffic, the temps don't get too much above ambient temp. Especially this winter, my IATs were below 20* all the time.

Nice. Well that's good to hear. I'm guessing you have some kind of data logger?

well this is different dbl my monte has 135 at the fire wall and 246 at the radiator what is so different from the 3800 and the 3500 firing order?

They are two completely different engines, virtually nothing is shared between the two.

I've got an Aeroforce gauge so I just look at IATs on that sometimes. With an intake like mine, just sitting in traffic for a few minutes the temps really go up, as you would expect. But as soon as you start moving again, they'll start going back down. Personally, if I'm gonna be racing someone, it won't be in town anyway so it doesn't matter.

Not saying a FWI wouldn't be better, because it would be. I've never been to the strip, but I would imagine that while sitting there staging and such my IATs would go way up. But for just driving around, mine is fine.
