the 3.9 and the 3.5 maf is the same i noticed that when i needed a new one the part number is the same for the two engines ironicaly but i dont know why but other than that it should be a straight forward install i havent heared till recent that some one had a problem

the only thing i had to do is notch off the screw holes and it worked fine no fitment issues other than the holes on the maf is just in the was just had to file mine off. hence file not cut i didnt want to do that other than file

Considering I have a Coldairinductions CAI on my 3.5L 2006 Monte, I would like to chime in on this. The 3.9L CAI DOES fit the 3.5L as a direct bolt in. The MAF on the 3.5L (at least the one used in our Monte's) is NOT part of the factory air box. It's after the air box. However, when removing the factory air box, you do need to unbolt unscrew the MAF housing from the lid of the factory air box. I used coldairinductions box, and connected it right up to my factory corrugated rubber hose, which has the MAF housed at the end of it in a hard plastic about 4" long tube. The coldairinductions air filter bolts directly to the factory MAF housing. The system works awesome, I highly recommend.

Here is a picture of my set up on the 3.5L...direct bolt in, no modification done.
