Default Best exhaust?

hey guys, im new to monte carlos as i am only just getting my license and i was wondering. a 2001 3800 series 2 what would be the best sounding (low and rumbly) and most preformance gain exhaust set up for around $300-350. i will buy used. i heard a ZZP down pipe offers a good power gain but i really need some expert advice. i am also looking for the best CAI intake set up for a decent not unreasonable price. i really do need some good advice i want to have a good sounding even quicker car. thanks

Please search around for what you would like and also other threads. There are various things to do with your exhaust. Our cars don't really sound good at all with exhaust, but there are some that sound decent. for CAI you can go to ZZPerformance.com under Grand Prix's and there are 3 different CAI's, there's a wizaired, the ZZP brand and the K&N, your best bet would be either except the K&N.

For exhaust i would go to youtube and listen for what sounds best to you.

x2 on anything that you think sounds good from sound clips on youtube. There is no power to be gained from a cat-back on these cars.

My advice about the exhaust would be to take the Monte to an exhaust shop and have them replace your mufflers with a couple of Borlas or something. It might cost $200-300 but at least it will be different. Like already mentioned our engines don't sound that great with an open exhaust. As far as a CAI, save yourself $150-200 and make a homemade one. Gains will be similar to the ZZP, K&N, or Wizaird ones.
