Flowmasters sound great on a V8, I had super 40's on my truck and loved them, it was a 360, would sound similar but not the same...

Lol i only had the 318 on that but with the gutted cat it sounded amazing very very loud though even inside but i liked it. My 2nd dodge didnt have the cats gutted and had dual flowmaster super 44 series nowhere near as loud almost mad me cry lol. Since were on the subject of exhaust anyone know how to make a 4.6l ford v8 loud i wanna go duals but not straight pipe. I want it pretty loud though if ya have any ideas.

Headman headers & Dynomax muffs, full, true dual system. My thoughts ... That is what I have on my SBC 406 pushing 400+hp.

A set of long tube, equal length headers with an 'H' pipe installed about .75 foot behind the collectors will aid greatly in torque and scavenging. As far as mufflers go, I learned a long time ago that loud mufflers attract a lot of attention...usually from local law enforcement. A quieter muffler will provide just as much flow as a loud muffler and you'll be able to actually utilize your power without attracting every cop within a 1/2 mile. I'd go with some Walker/Dynomax Quiet Flow mufflers with full length tail pipes exiting the rear of the vehicle. Or, if you have the $$$ go with some Super Trapp mufflers. That way you can use multiple baffles during the week to keep the noise level down then remove a few baffles Friday afternoon for a louder, more 'impressive' sound for cruising the local burger joint on the weekend.

Since we have the same question I'll just throw mine in too. 1997 Monte Carlo LS, i can't find any, i guess, "prebuilt"? exhaust system setups. So I was wondering what you would suggest to go w/ for performance over sound. Yes It's the stock 3.1l v6, my town isn't full of hardass's w/ beast cars so I'm okay w/ a crappy start ^.^
