Default Air pump help

I just bought a 2002 Monte Carlo and got a code for secondary air injection. After investigating, I noticed that there is a hose coming from the top of the air pump that's not connected. I have no idea where it is supposed to hooks up to. Can someone please help??

There are 2 hoses on the secondary air pump. The one on top is about 3/4" and feeds the secondary air control valve. A 3800 has one valve but I am not sure about 3400. I think it might have 2. On mine the hose under the drivers side of the engine and comes out to the valve which is mounted high and on the rear exhaust manifold.

The lower hose to the air pump should lead to an intake filter in the left fender. The pump should run for about 1 minute after starting the car. If not then check the 30 amp fuse in the lower fuse panel near the battery.

Thanks a lot, is this going to be hard to reconnect or should I take it to someone?

Without seeing it that is impossible to answer. You also need to consider that the pump might be bad due to moisture entering the open port. If you take it somewhere it will not be cheap. First time my pump failed I paid the dealer ~ $650. The second time I got it cheaper but they messed it up so I figured out how it works myself.
