I have full length Hedman headers, into 2.5", no cats, Flowmaster 40 series deltaflows, mandrel bent over diff. It sounds healthy, scares small children, and sets off car alarms. [sm=lildevil.gif]

thats gotta sound amazing!! my dads got that same set-up on his 56, flowtech headers into flowmaster 40's then straight out, sounds amazing!!! he's got a 350 in that..

i love that sound, too mad you can't get that out of the newer vehicles anymore, even the new trucks with the big v8's dont sound as good

looks is something that has to do with the person putting the system on. i agree dont go with a 3" system but dont stick with a 2.25. its way too restrictive. me personaly i think you have a few ways to go about it.

1. emisson legal headers. i highly sugest the hooker 2050's. amazing quality and you can still hold a cat. it also will give you some back pressure. i'd do that, 2.5" pipes, to a nice NON restricting muffler. ie. dont use a flowmaster. they ARE restrictive. if you want a great sound i'd say go with ultra flows (dynomax) or hooker aero chambers, hooker maxi flows (i dont even know if they make them anymore), or borla's.

2. go with true duels. (not sure of the headers) but you must notch your trans. cross member... i'd go with a x pipe.

3. stock manifolds with bigger pipes.

I just purchased an 86 Monte Carlo ss for my son and would like to start making some mods with him. I'd like to start with the exhaust system.
And nobody want's to be adopted by this guy?!?!

This kid has got to have one of the best parents in the world!!!

One very nice car. I always wanted one like that. The only thing nice would be if it was in black.
