I have a 2001 Monte Carlo LS and I want to get a new exhaust system that will be loud, mean, and aggressive. Problem is I can't find any Before you throw out options, I know that a V-6 won't be as loud as a V-8, I just want the loudest, evilest system I can get with what I got. Please help! Thank you

 

Search Youtube and see what you like soundwise. Then find the cheapest shop that will make you a stainless steel exhaust system. You won't gain any power, and it will sound funny because it is a v6 (it's just a fact of life, my Monte is silly loud), but it will sound different.

 

I thought you had to buy then pre-made. You can request shops to make exhausts? Like if I went to a shop and requested a SLP loudmouth for it, could they do it?

 

Yeah, most shops will make you one, but not a lot of them make stainless systems. Most of them use aluminized steel which will rust after awhile depending on road conditions.

If the exhaust shop doesn't have the mufflers you want, then order them from somewhere and have the shop install them.

 

In your opinion, whats the best/loudest system to get? and would you be able to guess how much it would cost me to request an SLP loudmouth to be made?

 

IDK how much it will cost you, I bought 2 SLP loudmouth for $100 new and installed them myself on 2005 Monte ..The exhaust shop charged me $200 for my exhaust on my 1940 chevy ...

 

is it an SS or LS. Where'd you get it from for $100? I could install them myself becausse I go to a Technical School and work in the automotive shop. And my LS is only a 1, could i convert it to a 2?

 

Mine is 2005 Monte SS supercharged and I bought them on craigslist $100 for two slp loudmouth mufflers new never installed Yes you can convert it to a 2 you just need hanger welded on for second one ..

 

You cant go to a shop and ask for them to "make" a specific type of aftermarket exhaust. Like you cant ask for them to make you an SLP loudmouth exhaust. You can have them make an exhaust for you and use a certain muffler. It wont be the same as buying an aftermarket exhaust. It should sound the same or similar tho if you use the same size pipe and the same mufflers and resonator.
