Default 305 Heads 350 Block. Good or Bad? Carb?

I finally dusted off my engine today. Its been in storage since I had it bored .30 over about 3 years ago. At that time I was told to save and use the heads I pulled off my Monte's 305. Not knowing anything about engines myself I kept them. I pulled the heads out today and everyone now thinks I should get differant heads. Can I use these heads or should I look for another set?
Heres what I got,
70-76 4 bolt main 350 Block bored .30 over. Casting # 3970014
80-86 305 Heads 1.84"/ 1.5" Valves, 58cc chambers Casting # 14014416

Also I have a Edelbrock Victor Jr. Intake, part # 2975. I could use some ideas on what kind of carb 2 use. I currently have 2 Edelbrock Carbs, both are part # 1405. I dont know what size they are yet. Not even sure if I can use one on my engine. If you know, please let me know.
Thanks, Bobb

Are those the stock 305 HO heads? I wouldnt use them on a 350. It might raise your compression a bit, but the flow would suffer.

I believe they are stock. They came off the original 305 that was in my 80 Monte. I got some big headers, will that affect flow?

i have done alot of looking into it my self but by the sounds of it they need to be ported and bigger valve to be put it to make much better power, it will raise compresion but that is fine

Headers wont help if the heads themselves dont flow well.
