305, 350 heads on a 400

Default 305, 350 heads on a 400

hey everyone, im new here and im looking for an answer to this, i have a 400 pc without any heads, and a have a complete 350, so im wondering if the 350 heads could go on that, and if there is any modifications to make ( i can probably do myself since i am a machiniste and work in a shop ) i just never did this kind of job. if you have any tips, id really need them ! thank you .

if its a 400 chevy there are supposed to be steam holes in the cylinder heads. the 350 and 305 dont have them. i wouldnt want to run the 305s heads. and the 350 heads would only be worth it if they are 2.02 1.60 valves. you would still have to machine the heads though. if its a pontiac 400 the heads off of any pontiac v8 326-455 will bolt up and work but you want to watch valve size and combustion chamber size.
