Bout time, I finally finished researching the K&N FIPK with MonteMoms' help. Yes, It will fit. HOWEVER there is modification. I noticed the TB on the 3.5L is about 15mm shorter then the 5.3L. You most likely will have to add in a small spacer for ideal fit.

Now apparently Intense racing makes a kit http://www.intense-racing.com/. It s thier "Fenderwell Intake" kit and it will fit Grandprix of the 5.3L and the older 3.8l.. About $100 cheaper then the K&N FIPK, but its pretty cheesy looking if you ask me..

Yes yes yes.. I know it says IMPALA.. On the installer sheet tho, it says Monte Carlo as well. This is a DIY kit from what the reps at Magnaflow tell me, however they reccomend perfessional welding and installation...

Hptuners seems to be the only one that offers the 3500/3900 tuning. I asked diablosport and all they offer is SS models only.

Very nice find fox, The thing Im curious about is the Tuner, does it have to be used in conjunction with a laptop or home computer, or can it be used as a standalone unit also?

 

 

Thanks fellas.. HPtuners is a computer dependant tuner. You must have a laptop or PC to use it unfortunatly..

At least the parts are starting to come out tho!
