i was reading and searching for mods and info to get some more horses with out spending a crazy budget,anyone had done this swap??anyone know the budget range and problems i compare a 3.4 alero from my friend and even the egr seems to be in a correct place,i did notice coolant lines may vary as they run from the coolant reserve towards the thermostat side of the water hose.any help will b appreciated

 

Have you thought about swapping a 3.8+trans+axles instead? Maybe even a supercharged one? Monte Carlo's came with 3.8 in 99. You would need the engine, trans, axles, PCM, wiring, maybe radiator, alt, starter, and a few more things you could get from the donor car. Worth taking a look!

 

well never thought of it but its a great idea,then again i live at a apt complex also work here,and the only one i know with a mechanic garage is mu cousin witch i dont think can work with,being fam on a open sunday that he doenst use the shop wanted me to pay him little upper the 300.and well i dont have a place to do that,i know mechanic not a pro but i try.but now that i said that will save a budget and look around for a z34 witch is the 3.8 and i do have seen mods including headers for it.but i wish i can find it white but i think omly the luminas are.thx again for the help
