For 2006 SS monte exhaust
Today I went to go get some flowmaster 40's put onto my SS. The guy cut off my mufflers and let me drive my car around to hear the sound difference. The exhaust sounded great even with my resonator and stock cat on still. I suggest anyone who wants to make there SS 06 V8 sound loud and deep, to just cut off your mufflers and install piping back to the exhaust tips.
I'll be posting my sound clips as soon as I get a video recorder.

yah, as long as the resonators are still on it it should sound pretty good, there's a few people up here that have done that with their cars that i know of, and it sounds pretty good
little bit more throaty than with a muffler

Well speaking of which, I own a 2004 MC SS and ditched the mufflers and put on a set of turn downs, and it sounds good at lower RPM's, but past 3,000 RPM's when you let off its raspy, drives my lady nuts.
All the systems sound like @$$ once you hit above 3000 RPM. You simply can't get a V6 to sound good up there. The low end will sound much better with any aftermarket, it's just a matter of what you like.
