magnaflow is the nicest but pricey, slp performance makes a reasonable full cat back exhuast that would work nicely,

I have a 2006 monte carlo lt and a 3.9 engine

First I had just cut off the old mufflers had flowmaster 4o series mufflers put on with 3.5 tips for $280 including tax

As of recent we do have a resonator on our cars and it can be cut off and replaced with a 2.5 inch pipe all the way to the y pipe, this was done for $20 dollars

Now I can take my y pipe and replace it with a custom made y pipe because our original y pipe is 2 inches, the y pipe can be 2.5 inches, with a full cat back you ger 2.50 inches all the way out, you can have this made by a performnace muffler shop, the new Y pipe is $100

this all totals up to $400 compared to magnaflows price I saved almost half the money.

I do get as good of performance as you would compared to full cat back systems.

This is before taking my resonator off, now my exhaust is louder and a little bit more performance.

Talk to a small muffler shop for a price on your own cat back exhuast with whatever mufflers you want.

Midas or Mieneke is a rip off for exhaust they will charge you $500 or above for a exhuast sytem, I got quotes there along time ago. shop around and get pricing from multiple places to do and exhuast for you and somebody who says they can do the job.
