Whine on acceleration?

buy a new serpentine belt, if its stretched it will squeal, if it sounds like a supercharger then its your tranny. Alternators dont just slowly go out, they either work or dont work, if it dont work it, then your car wont run. Power steering pump should only make noise when your turning and that wont get louder just because you get on the gas. if your giong in a straight line acceleration and it gets louder with more rpm, its only one of two things. stretched serpentine belt or tranny to have looking at.
It could be a lot of things. My Monte makes the exact same noise and I've narrowed it down to just being a loud power steering pump. They're known in our cars for getting loud.
