Hi,
I currently live in Aurora MO with my fiancee and I was actually looking at a 2002 Monte Carlo SS limited edition at Mayse right after I found the one I bought. At the same time, the local Ford dealership In Aurora had a 2002 MC SS with only about 3,000 more miles on it for about $1,400 less and Mayse would not budge on their price. They were asking $8,995 with 82,000 miles on it and the car the Ford place had was selling for $7,600 with 85,000 miles on it.

After telling them the selling price on the 2004 SS Dale Jr. edition, they still wouldn't budge. That car was still on their lot a few months after I bought mine and I don't know if it sold or they auctioned it off. To say the least, I was not impressed with them. I'm glad you had a better experience than I did.

I bought mine from an ex's uncle. I had always liked the car when he owned it. It started smoking on him so he stopped driving it and parked it in his backyard. I ran into him and asked him if he still had it. He told me he did and was thinking about selling it because he didn't have time to work on it. He said he was asking $1500. I offered him $1300 and drove it home that day. Now I am in the process of taking it apart and redoing it.

I found my Monte by using Cars.com. When I decided to get a 7th gen Monte, I wanted the 3LT model because it had the 17" alloys, NASCAR style spoiler, 3.9L engine, dual exhaust, and some interior features I liked. A lot like the SS, but without making the jump from a 4 cylinder to a V8. None of the Chevy dealers locally had a used '06 3LT in any of the colors I wanted, but through Cars.com I found a Chevy dealer in Wilkes-Barre, PA (about 2 1/2 hrs away from me) that had one.

hmmm well when i bought my monte. i had a 1996 eagle talon that was stolen from my work. a little damage was done to it but nothing major but it just didnt feel like my car anymore so i sold it on ebay and didnt really have another car yet but i knew i would find something. i was on my way to meet the guy that bought the talon to do the title work and give him the car and decided to swing into a jeep dealership that was on the way and there she was sitting in the back row all nice and shiny, i instantly fell in love and went inside the dealership and wrote the guy a check without even hearing the car run..
finding this car was fate and i love it

I bought my Monty at Ben's Auto on route 66 in Oklahoma City. Originally I went to see a red 03 ss at another dealer also on route 66 but by the time I got there it was already sold, so I drove to the next dealership, Ben's auto, and there it was!
