Default Where did you buy your rims?

Curious as to where everybody buys their rims! Its on my to-do list. At first, I thought it would be quite expensive, but after looking around tirerack.com I realize I can get a set for 7-800. Then I could sell my stock SS rims for 5-600 (am I dreaming?).

This also begs the question... what size rims came on my 06 SS? They're 18's, right? But how wide are they? If I ever get new rims it would be nice to keep my tires since they're like brand new condition.

I bought mine on ebay, but tirerack is a great place to buy wheels and tires.

Stock is 18x7. I went with an 18x8 wheel, and used the stock RS-A tires.

Really? 18x7? I figured they would be 8s. Bah well.

How did you fit a stock tire on an 18x8 wheel?

I've got my last couple sets used from the various forums. You don't get to pick exactly what you want, but if you wait long enough you can find some nice stuff- and usually its pretty cheap- at least 1/2 off new sticker, sometimes more (I paid $200 for the 18"s on my monte, no scrapes, scuffs or anything, and 3 good nearly new BFG KDW2 tires - 1 had some tiny puncture holes by the sidewall so I replaced it).

Then I could sell my stock SS rims for 5-600 (am I dreaming?).
You can try, but I kinda doubt it- they don't seem to be nearly as sought after as the GXP 18"s. Not to mention, stock wheels aren't usually that desirable anyways- yours wouldn't be as bad because its a little more rare though than the regular base model wheels. I'd watch ebay and such to see what others start at.

Got mine off ebay for about $700 with duty fees. Ordered tires from tirerack.com for another $700. Great price compared to what I would of paid for them locally. I'm getting them mounted tomorrow. Here is a picture of the rims I got. They are 20"
