Well, this makes two of us, I am unfamiliar with AARP being an engine term (I heard of it for retirees). Maybe someone is trying to say those engines are "retired"?

AARP is the American association for retired persons they must be refering to it as a tired engine. I have not heard that term before either.

Im not sure theyre talking about AARP for retirees.. First time I heard it was yesterday speaking with someone about 3800's. Hang on let me get a couple things here. See he refers to the newer 3800 as an AARP but not the older 3800 on the grand national.. If it were slang for a "retired" engine there wouldnt be the need to claim so...

Heres a quote from a conversation I was having yesterday:

"Geek🎅fWires🎄❄🎓🐧Yesterday at 12:36 PM

Depends. There's the GN 3800 which was the interesting one, then there's the AARP 3800 that went on some of the cars. I think the Park avenue is one? Anyway. All the cars that got that engine were transverse mounted and had a tranny behind it worse than the 4L60E when that was used for the better. At least 4L60E lives if you maintain it properly.
Both I'm referring to at supercharged but you just probably want to stick with the GN tbh"

And a video where its said as well. Start the video at about 37 seconds.
