i have a 97 z34 and i just bought it 3 days ago, and the trans is jumping when it shifts. it has 159,000 on it and the fluid color is brownish. it also idles at 1100. i know the 1100 is bad and the jumping is bad, but if there anything easy i can do to maybe not have to get a new trans? something like a trans flush maybe? i know for cars over 100,000 its not recommended to get a trans flush, but if it will help prolong the blowing of my trans, that would be awesome. i really wanna keep this car cuz its bad ***, but ill prolly wind up paying more for the trans than i did for the whole car.

 

try to figure out the corect idle by cleaning the idel air and intake sestem and check the settings for the timing sounds like the person befor you adjustid some thing stupid like the trans flush all of it staight to the torq converter as well the trans sounds like it did not like 1100 rpm at all when shifting from park to the rest of the gears the only way to find out if there is any way the trans is going is to drop the pan and check the magnet on the pan for meatel shavings clean out all the fluid evin in the torq it will be hard to emptying that find a shop that has a machine that they can hook up the trans to get every thing out of it but also check the timing and look into a new trans is it the 4 speed if it is there are better remand replacements out there it will take a weekend to do with some freinds and drinks to perswade but well worth it
