once you get above 125 on a S/C car, you hit what they call a boost bypass open, where you are no longer getting boost, and only running on a straight v6, cause they blower bypass valve opens, so once you hit 125, it takes a ****LOAD longer to get above that.. believe me...

As for the Mustang. Thankfully it was a rental, because my Intrepid got totalled. I grabbed it thinking it was going to be a cool ride. It was cool for about 10 minutes. Then my neck started to hurt because of the headrest. My *** hurt from the seat. My knee hurt from getting out sideways. Everything in it is plastic.

It has 3 nice things. One it is was fast, I like the looks of it and the radio was loud. Thats it. Then I started missing my Intrepid bad. Then I had to buy a car in one day because they totalled it. I was so lucky to find this car.

My life is good right now. And if things go right. My oldest starts Collage in the fall

The Intimidator/supercharged SS has the exact same engine as the 97-03 GTP. My GTP was limited to 127mph. On the dash it stopped at 115, but on the Heads-Up-Display it kept counting until 127.

I was on my way to Memphis, TN from St. Louis, MO on 55 South...a straight line for miles! I got into a race with a BMW 760. No contest! as soon as I hit 127 the Beamer moved right past me and kept going. I had the pedal to the floor for a long time at 127 and it just wouldn't go any faster, but the Beamer kept movingfartherahead.

GTP and MC S/C are the same car mostly.

My 06 MC has 140 in the dash and I haven't tried it yet, but I saw an 06SS Impala hit 140 on youtube.

 

The speed governeur set at 117 shouldn't be much of a concern on a drag strip unless you can crack low 12's but it would be taken out with the engine managment software that would be neccesary to do that anyway. Any faster on a public road is not a great idea.

I had gotten my 03 Monte SS up to 120 but backed off after I noticed I was actually going that fast.. I have done that a couple of times.. The gas pedal was soooo soft that it was easy to do.. My 5 speeding tickets with that car can easily prove it too.

My 06 Monte LT, I haven't gotten it up to any high speeds above 80 yet.. Stiffer gas pedal so that is helping me.. That and the fact that construction is everywhere in my area.. Gotta love Western New York!!
