The question I have is. What is a 04 Monte SS governed at. I know my Intrepid stopped at 118MPH. Whats The Monte able to do, then is there a reflash option to open it up. [8D]

 

O yes... there is DEFINTLY an option to open up that 128? mph limiter (I've heard 128 and 107... don't know which is right)....

I got mine opneed up... I've been up to 130. Takes awhile to get there, a mile and a half anyway.. but it's fast and smooth considering the speed when you get there.

 

I THINK maybe 112?

 

It's ridiculous to even think about going that fast on an uncontrolled road, however I want to say it is 107... You can have it reflashed to be whatever you want.. however, like Cowboy said, you're looking at one hell of a long straight road to get that high...

Takes me close to 20-25 seconds WOT to get that high...

 

I do realize the dangers of going that fast. Like my name implies. I am Paranoid. ThenI am in a Yellow car. So, anything I do. Will be very limited. But, I do want to know what it can do. I did get it up to 110 today for second. [sm=guilty.gif]

when i hit 130 i was coming out of a destruction zone.... went from 55 to 130 in a little over a mile and a half.... takes awhile... from a dead stop it wuld take about 1/8 mile more.

i was on an interstate around 9:30 at night.. no cars in sight (slight hill... could just barelly see the road ahead of me at the crest... could see cars thoguh. i could have hit 140 but i was coming up on a pair of trucks passing each other... about a half mile away, but at that speed a mile is not long. i know it sounds like forever... "Takea a mile and a half to get up that high".... thatsl iteraly, but keep in mind once you get up to around 90-100 the mile markers are going by every 40 seconds... at 120 there going by every 30 seconds... steady gaining speed... so it sounds longer than it really is... probably takes a minute to get up there.

but the question is about the limiter and how to remove it....

you can get two different programs for your laptop... HP Tuner and DHP (I think DHP went out of business..). i had mine tuned on a dyno for $350 by a professional using HP Tuner.

well i have tried to figure out the answer to this question with out aquireing a ticket for 140 in a 70. this is all i came up with before i chickened out...lol and she was just getting warmed up. awhile back (on a closed course with a professional driver(me)) (wink,wink) i hit 130 with no stopping. a few years back i had a 91 firebird a few years back that shut down at 118. so i was curious...i still am....

One day I would like to actually open this up on a track. Its weird, I just want to know what it can do. not that I would do it. Because my girl would killme if she found out.

Since I am 39. This is the first real coupe I have owned. Got a new girlfriend after two divorces. I think she is the one(finally). Kinda feel like a young man again with her anyhow. Then I get hit in my car and find the Monte.This is a good time in my life. Quite happy. Notoften someone can say that.

So, to risk all this to go fast. Well itsnot the brightest thing to do. But, who said I was very bright.


Oh, on a side note. My Intrepid was capped at 118, the Mustang I was renting while I found the Monte was capped at 115.
