I bought this car back in sept 13. And I need to buy new tires.

I used Michelin tires designed for rain - I forget what it was called. It was great tires in rain and handling. It had warranty for 90 k miles if i remember right. But that was back in 1999 purchase and I'm sure its no longer in production.

Also my car is big "upgrade" from my 03 SS which was totaled in 05'

Now, my car spin so easily on little gas... It even spins when I press on pedal to pass other cars from 55 mph or so..

What I need is real good tires... Good treadwear and handling curves at high speed and good traction on dry and heavy rain/puddles.

Any recommendations??

Also for the winter tires, winterforce tires is the best snow tires I ever had. It cut through deep snow and slippery mushy snow very great.. Had great pick up traction and stopping, as well around the curves w snow.. I was disappointed to see there is none for 18" wheels. Is there a way I can buy 16" or 17" tires w steel rims without messing up odometer?

I bought Goodyear Eagle F1's all season tires and they have excellent traction, rain included. Discount Tire here in Texas gave me a better price than Tire Rack even....

 

These are summer Only recommendations.
I bought new Rims for summer and kept the original wheels for winter.

I have the Nitto NT555, and highly recommend them.

I had Dunlop, they were good at first, but lost traction before they were 1/2 worn, and wore out fast.
Then, I had Hankook V12, great traction, wore out way, way too fast.

So, I like the Nitto best out of the 3 I've had.

My winter tires are Dunlop Wintersport SP. Great performance snow tire. Been through 6 full winter seasons, (I had it stored 1 year) now more than 1/2 worn out, Don't have the traction they had when new.
I'm looking for new snows for next year.

 

I used to have gy eagle something with yellow lettering in early 90's and looked so awesome. It was performance tires. They failed to neglected to inform me that treadwear worn out fast. At 20 k miles, they were gone... Not really pleased... Never again buy performance tires. The one you mentioned - F1's its not performance tire, right? I assume its not since u said all season tire. But... How was the tread wear? How many miles on it?

I suggest try winterforce tires... Only in 16 and 17 inches. It last me 3 winters. Put it on in mid to late Nov. Get it off as soon as it become constantly warm that snow is not coming back.. Don't use it well into April or may unless u live way way up in north

 

These are rated W - and 500/A/A so they should last, if I can keep my foot out of it that is. Don't overlook making sure you have a good alignment also!

 

i sell tires for a living and i think you were talking about the mich hydro-edge tires. they finally were discontinued about 2 years ago. their replacement is the Defender. great all around tire. If you look for a tire with more dry grip you will sacrifice snow traction...

there are a few tires i would suggest you consider and look at.
1# Mich Primacy MXV4 (best all around tire in existence period)
2# Mich Pilot A/S 3 (best dry/wet traction not so great snow)
3# BFG g-force Super sport A/S (have these on the wifes car great dry/wet never tried in snow)
4# Conti Extreme contact DWS (great all around tire)

also the stock 235/50-18 is very hard to find tires in. i suggest going to a 245/45-18. all the above tires come in this size and will be easy to find down the road if you need to replace one.

 

Nitto makes some awesome tires , i'm going to change my michellin's up to Nitto's !

 

You mean down grade to nitto... Michelin makes the best tires. The Pilot AS 3 will out perform any nitto short of a drag radial. If you need even more grip their sister co BFF has drag radials.
