i have an 06 too. well the car currently sits in my parents driveway being insured and not driven. it gets terrible gas mileage, the woman despises the car, the neighbors at our place hate it cause they think its obnoxiously loud, and at this stage in my life im not financially endowed enough to have a hot rod. i still owe money on my 06 which is a little more civil, and has all the things woman care about, ac, heated seats, power windows, seat belts, air bags, and you can hear the radio and carry on conversations in it. like i said i love the 80, but hot rods are a rich mans hobby which i am not. hell if i was id have the body done, the n2o kit on it, and the dana in there, a 72 bbc monte, a 72 grand torino, a 67 notch, a ls6 cam, and intake on my 06, a fleet of cats, a fleet of kids, and more than one bed room in our place. i just think its silly and fiscally irresponsible for a man thats broke, seeking work, and, going back to school to have a expensive toy that doesnt get played with. its some one elses turn to tear up the streets and keep the legend of the great destroyer going.

But your right, at lot of kids do not know how to drive and IMO most kids wouldnt want to drive that car. so i dont think you would have to worry about that.

If i ever crashed my Monte, i think my dad would kill me O.O

If I was closer and had $7k Id be all over this.

And itll be cheaper to keep the car and save it for when you can afford it than try to start from scratch.

 

no offense intended guys, but when i was your age i was a savage with any car. which is probably why my old man didnt want to help me build a big block for my olds. probably wouldve gotten me in more trouble if he did. im talking just being dumb and irresponsible. when i was younger i had this idea i was indestructible and had something to prove. if i had the car setup like this when i was 18 i probably wouldnt be here right now, or it wouldnt be here right now. it makes enough power to really hurt itself, and i didnt know any better back then. anyways im sure there are more than plenty 17yr olds that have driven faster cars, but when i was 17 and new driver i wasnt ready for a low 12 car. hell i wasnt ready for the low 15 car i was running.

ex friend. its still on craigslist. that car vs this car would be a fair fight. his went flat 13 on a street tire. both cars are very streetable. his had a loose convertor had to be 3000+ stall so you had to really get into the gas to get her going in normal street driving, and it only had a 350 so highway driving was a little obnoxious. mine being a 4 speed cruises 75 no prob, and the convertor is tighter and with the 3.73s and the 700r4s deep first gear it doesnt take much to get her going. i debated going with the accel super ram fuel injection for it at one time to help with fuel mileage, street manners, but then stopped working on it.
