Strut Tower Brace
#2
Your best bet would be to find a 6th gen and take length, height, width and bolt center to center measurements. Compare that to the tower to tower measurements of a 5th gen. As long as it isn't too tall or wide there is always a way if there is a will. If brackets aren't available you may be able to drill them into the top of the strut tower.

^this. You might also look into installing one in the rear. I installed mine and it improved the handling noticeably. Same tower strut brace as the front. Good luck and let us know how it turned out.

Bmr lists on there Web site the front strut tower brace fits 96-06 monte carlo and the rear fits 97-03 monte carlo but the rear fits an 04 as well as i installed one. IMO bmr is the best stb available

On the 5th gen, you also have to deal with the top plates on the struts.
But, those plates could lend themselves to a little custom fabrication and get what was done here:

6th gen stb's don't fit 5th gens, so you will need to do some fabricating to make one work. If you don't want to do any fabricating at all, look for an stb from an early 90's Olds Cutlass convertible and take it. Direct fit with no need to fab. That's what I did and it works great.
