Steering Squeek?

Steering Squeek?
My wifes MC is a 2002 with the 3.8. Here lately, when she turns her steering wheel either direction there is a constant squeeking sound coming from under the dash somewhere.
It is a constant squeek not sporadic or anything & the steering wheel has to be moving for it to do it....if she turns the wheel & stops it, the squeek stops. The sound cannot be heard on the outside of the vehicle.
Any ideas what this is?

RE: Steering Squeek?
The squeak you are hearing most likely is coming from the p/s rack spool valve stub shaft seal. The stub shaft is what the intermediate steering shaft attaches to on the rack. The noise will travel into the passenger compartment and you would swear its coming from the lower steering column area inside the car. In the shop I have had great success eliminating this noise by pulling the stub shaft seal away from the stub shaft very gently using a 90 degree pick tool and applying several drops of Mobil 1 to the stub shaft and allowing the oil to flow down the shaft into the seal contact area. This is much easier said than done due to difficultaccess to this area with the p/s rack in the car but it works.
