SS or Not?

Default SS or Not?

I gotta 85 M.C. trying to figure out if its a SS. If the (I believe) 8th or 9th letter on the vin a G or what? Cuz mine is and I have found the cap with SS off the steering will in da center console. Let me know

For 1984-1988 Monte's the 8th digit has to be a "G".

Welp I guess I bought a SS for $500. And I got it running! Best deal ever

Oh yeah. Just have to buy a rebuild kit for the carburetor. So it can be right then move down to the transmission because the gear line or so wasnt hook up. The day i cranked it up, it started to haul ***. Luckily I had it lifted up. So right now I feel good about the car
