Not sure posting on a public forum that you were driving in excess of any legal speed limit on public roads is a good idea.

I'm also with Space, be safe! Not to be a buzz-kill, but when driving in a large excess of the post limit (example, limit is 65MPH and you are driving at 90+) can create problems. At that rate of speed, many drivers may not notice how fast you are traveling when making a lane change. Plus, any failure on the vehicle (such as a tire blow out if it can't handle that speed) increases the formula for problems.

It puts both your safety and the safety of others at risk. Perhaps I've read too many news stories about people joy riding at 90+ speeds ending bad.

I think for 6th gens it was like 107 for ls and 112 for ss, id assume it would be similar for the 7th gens

in my 2007 Monte LT with the 3.5 V6 the speed limiter is 112MPH, then it cuts out, i know theirs a way to take of the governor at the transmission i believe, but the exact instructions im not sure of. i know these speed limiters are annoying but, "there for our own safety" HAHAHAHAHA

Default My monte's top speed!

So if you'd like to know how fast a 2004 Monte Carlo SS Supercharged go can!, FAST!
So iam new-ish to the forums, my names john, my montes name is carla :P anyway I was at a local track to see her top speed, and for upgrades all I got is a K&N air intake, corsa dual exhaust and new igniton(msd coils and wires with ngk plats) and I got her going 140! The speedometer only goes 140 but the needle was sitting there, so maybe 145.? Anyway, fast as hell! --- hope to get pics of my baby up soon! Take care! -john(montecarla)
