Shortest time: 1985 Cavalier Type 10 hatchback, 90 whopping horsepower!!! 3 years during college
Longest time: 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT coupe a.k.a. "The Money Pit" 8 years
If I may add something to this, which is your favorite vehicle THAT YOU OWNED?
My favorite would have to be my 1991 Cavaler Z24. I had tons of fun with that car. Wish I had it back actually.
But it goes without saying, that my Monte is quickly replacing it as my favorite.

RE: Shortest and longest...
I had a 90's ford ranger after high school, It got stolen
Then I got a 1989 VW Jetta, fun car It got stolen
Then a 70's 300 diesel benz, got us through the gas crisis in early 2000's, had like 300,000 miles
Then a Mazda b4000 and it was passes to my dad and still runnin, its a 1994 with 140,000 miles
Then I got the 1994 corvette had it for a summer very fun but expensive to fix going through college. 95,000 miles
Then a small v8 2003 standard size chevy truck, very fun but didn't like when gas started getting expensive was costing me 80 dollars a week.
Then I got a newer pontiac g6, great on gas but the small engine had no power.
Traded it in when I got my Monte and been happy with gas one tank last me a week. Its a very reliable friendly mpg car.
I miss my old corvette but one day later I hope to get one that has low milage and is very affordable. Gas prices have help to bring car values down but I have a ways to go before I get another car.

RE: Shortest and longest...
hmm... shortest was my 1989 Cavalier Z24. Loved that car. Met it's demise when it met up with 4 Ford Tempos in a domino effect accident.
The longest was my pride and joy 1986 S-10... Put a lot of $$$$$ into that thing!!!

RE: Shortest and longest...
Shortest was my 1st Monte, a red 95 LS. Bought it for the wife, had it a week, and an event happened which split us up. Sold it to a co-worker 3 weeks later for what I paid, minus taxes. So 1 month is the shortest.
Longest was my dark red 95 Blazer. One of the 1st out of that model. Bought March 95. Sold it when I bought the 01 Impala in the fall of 01, after the 02s came out. 6 1/2 years, 166,000 miles is the longest.
Favorite is a tough one. SO many to choose from! 64 Impala SS, 65 Comet w/289 hi-po & 4 speed, 61 F100 w/ 428 police interceptor drivetrain, (500 hp, 1 BAD truck!). But I got to say, 2 of the 4 we own now are possibly my favorites. This Intimidator SS, running about 315 hp, and the killer stereo, is a GREAT car, but the 07 Solstice GXP, "Lucy", a 350 hp 3L turbo, is a BLAST to drive. Going to the Kappa car meets has been a riot, going on the runs with the groups, like the "Tail of the Dragon" at the SW corner of the Smokey Mountains was the highlight of our year of travelling. Went on 3 event runs, 555 in NE Ohio, Lexington Regionals, and the Dragon in NC.
So my FAVORITE car is Lucy, LadyTs 07 Solstice GXP.
