Retrofitting my clear corners
Alrighty guys, have a couple of updates here and they'll continue throughout the night, lots of dremmeling today...
First, I had to trim down the back of the shrouds to make them fit a little more flush with the projectors, in this pic the areas not taped off were going to be painted red, I have since changed my mind after a mock-up that you guys will not get to see, not until the end at least hehehehe:
before:

after:

I then wanted to get this original sealant out before I started paint...
before:

after:

I then had to cut away at part of the shrouds to make them so that the beam can be moved up any down just like they would from the factory:

Now, everything is getting a layer of gloss black, these will get cleared tonight and then the housings will get black gloss also and hopefully cleared tomorrow.

First one to guess that block^ gets a free retrofit... just kidding
More pictures to come soon, I'm hoping to have this done by this weekend

It's cold outside, roommates don't seem to care, i'll open the window and turn the fan on haha
Here's my updates....
Started to work on the LEDs for demon eyes. Still working on the second one:
Projectors come apart with 4 screws: here we have the reflector bowl, the shield which lifts to allow the full beam and also makes the cut-off and finally the clear lens:

You can see how the shield moves:

LEDs getting epoxied in:

Reflectors and Shrouds are done and drying:

Will be using 2 of these for the turn signals, they are a cool white (6000k) whichever will be brighter to go with the switchbacks:

These will be used for the high beams, as I won't need the extra output and won't be able to get any with the complete black housing, these will just be for looks:

I will be doing the quad beam mod, to keep the high beams and low beams on when the shield raises. I will also be wiring the demon eyes on a separate switch to have full control.
It was the aftermarket original glue, it was crappy and made it hard to replace the lens. I'm going to use clear silicone unless I see something that'll be better lol

I wish I would have incorporated LEDs with my retrofit somehow like you are. Those demon eyes are going to look awesome. Nice idea with the LED high beams. I debated doing this too, but the quad HIDs are just too freaking sweet
How bright are those LED high beams? Can't wait to see a pic.Keep it up man

I'm not a big fan of HID high beams, I don't like the 'warm-up' period. Plus, these are crazy bright with the shield lifted.
I'll be finishing the painting tomorrow hopefully and the assembly will be Wenesday if all goes to plan!
I'm excited. I still have to full sand, buff and seal my headlights because I don't want to be pulling them apart again if I don't need to lol
I'm hoping to have it all done mid-day Friday or Saturday, depends on when I get home
these are looking awesome!!! i may have you make me some
since you split the lens from the housing cant you remove the amber reflector and make regular head lights clear corners this way???
i know yours was clear corner to begin with but i was just curious if this could be done with the amber corner lights.....

Technically you can, but I don't know how even it would end up being, the reflector is part of the lens, so it would have to be dremeled out. If I can get a spare lens I'll have a try at it and see what I can do.
Thanks!

. Mitch. it's guys like you that started the Hot Rod stuff way back when ! Guys that were not scared to try something different and make it work. Guys sitting in a garage or mostly out in the driveway trying to make theirs car better and different then everyone else's. My

Unfortunately both lenses are at home still, I want to fully restore the lenses before I mount them again. I will be putting everything together tomorrow and running all the wires and making sure they're where I want them. I'll mock them up and then post a picture of how they look then. I'll then have to make sure the beams are level and then tighten them down. after that I'll get the lens mounted. Hopefully the lens fits with no problems. I mocked them up before I the only clearance issue I had was with the shroud, which is why I had to cut it.
Just put the last coats of clear on the housings:

I have a test tomorrow at 12 and then it's all getting finished after
