I don't know if anyone would know this answer but I have a 2004 monte carlo ss and it has a aftermarket remote start. It was working like normal since I got it but now when I hit the brake, the car does not turn off. It is supposed to shutoff. Does anyone know why or could send me in the right direction.

 

Mine is very picky, sometimes it shuts off when I step on the brake other times it doesn't. Lots of ties it doesn't shut off by itself

 

Mine is picky as well. It always shuts off when I stepon the brake. But it randomly starts with the remote. It's always a hit or miss. If it starts, it works the way it's suppose to? Mine Also suddenly stopped locking/unlocking the doors and popping the trunk. The alarm, when I set it, will sound off if I open the door or trunk without disarming it.
I just find it curious that others may be having similar troubles with aftermarket alarms.

 

I found out what mind was, the fuse for the brake lights was broken so I replaced that and it is fine now but thanks for the help too.
