Everyone loved it, still get a lot of complements on it. My dad and uncle were even a little bit jealous and they're Ford guys lol.

 

My Mom was with me when I went to the dealer to look at cars, and she loved it/ encouraged me to buy it.

My Dad thought is was a really nice car, but "to much car for me" Meaning it was to expensive and I was nuts for buying a new car at 20 years old. Plus I was coming from an 03 Cavalier, so he was concerned that I would not be able to afford the extra gas and insurance. Now he really likes it.

Almost everyone else, including my Japanese car buying cousin thought it was really nice...

I still get compliments on it.

Parents knew I wanted a Monte.... BAD. Girlfriend Debbie knew it for a while since I talked about owning one a lot. My nephew Matt said, Uncle, you need to keep your Dodge." He was in 1st grade at the time.

When I was seriously looking in to a 2006 Monte my mother said, "Sell the other one." Meaning my '86. I told her "No way!" I doubt my mother really ment for me to sell the '86. She was just testing me to see if I would.

Back when we first got the '81 and the '86. Deb worked at the mall as a store manager. I went there one morning to see her. Two of the maintence guys were out in the parking lot looking the Montes over. One of them told me, "Nice Camaros."
(say what????)

One day my two older sisters said, "Take us for a ride." in the '86 cause they wanted to ride in it.
Not long after I got the '06 they said, "Take us for a ride. We got to ride in the older one." Just as we were leaving a neighbor pulled in the drive and blocked us in. So we never got to go on that ride in the '06 Monte.
