random question on the 3.4l dohc

Nope. What I stated is fact. My father is a 30 year GM tech. He said they had to convert most of them over to autos. They only made them until 1993 because they lost their *** on warranty claims. I have a feeling if you didn't own an LQ1, you wouldn't be defending it so strongly.
It ranks right up there with the Mitsubishi 3.0/2.5, Cadillac 3.0/8-6-4 and Chrysler 2.7

Well I guess you learn something new everyday. I still stand by my opinion that the LQ1 is a pretty decent motor. Maybe you are correct that I wouldnt be defending it if I didnt own one, but also I wouldnt still own it if it were nothing but a problem.

No we're cool. Your probably the first person to say anything about the LQ1 who actually has any facts to back them up. Usually it's "this motor is junk because the timing belt broke after I ran it for 150000 miles" or "this motor is junk because I can't change the spark plugs" lol. I guess every motor has its faults tho. There are still a ton of 100000 mile plus LQ1s on the road. I know I love mine and if I need to do a little extra maintenance to keep it on the road I'll be more than happy to do it.
