Timing Belt Installation on 1995 Z34 DOHC
Hello everyone,
I am havinga heck of a time installing a new timing belt on my Z34 3.4L DOHC V6 Monte Carlo. I made the mistake of removing the belt without securing the cams and now I have no idea how to line the cams up correctly to get this thing running again. I have the crank pulley all lined up with the arrow on the bottom and the same goes for what I believe to be the balance shaft just above that. As for the 4 cams, I have no idea how to get them lined up correctly. I do have a manual and when I look through the manual it says all the cam "flats" need to be lined up... I honestly have no idea what that means. Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Dan

most cams when you look at the end of them there will be a dot. try linig up the dots and installing it.
the cams have lobes on them and flats between the lobes for the lifters to ride on wha thtey are sayign is they all have to be in line.
the bad part is i dont knwo where the motor must be on this. thinking it has to be on TDC to do this for the cams etc..
