I have a '95 Chevy Monte Carlo with a 3.4 DOHC. And I was looking for some serious upgrades. Can anyone give me some help on this matter? Superchips, turbo, superchargers? Which is best (if any)?

 

ok well its time you heard the truth. the lq1 better know as the 3.4L DOHC is the forgotten GM performance engine. there is very little avalible in pre-made kits.

for serious upgrades, i would suggest either turbo or superchargers. but the fact is again no one makes a kit for the car. so if you go ahead with one of them, it will have to be completely custom. there are a hand full of people with turbos on their DOHC. i know of one person right now working on a SC for the engine, but it will deff not be a kit. and will be very expensive to reproduce.

your best bet for a high level of power is bolt ons and tuning.

i would recomend the following.

-Cold air intake(5hp)
-Throtle body and intake manifold P&P (10hp)
-new Port & Polished heads (20hp)
-retime cams called the 13* mod -6/+6 (10hp more low TQ)
-Underdrive pulley (5-10 hp)
-New ignition coils, plugs, wires, MSD ignition box (10hp)
-Headers, down pipe, high flow exhaust (15hp)
-30-40 wet-shot of NO2 (30-40hp)

this list should give you atleast 100hp but your trany will be toast!
i also would convert your car to a 96 computer and run a DHP power tuner to tweak the car.
